I believe that to be an effective Later Life Adviser it is important to have a good working knowledge and understanding of advising on options for retirement planning and later life planning, as well as choosing and paying for care.
I’m a Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) Accredited Later Life Adviser.
I am delighted to have achieved the SOLLA Retirement Advice Standard as well as the SOLLA Care Standard to demonstrate these specialist areas.
SOLLA was founded in 2008 as a not for profit organisation dedicated to raising the standards and helping people to find independent financial advisers who are not only qualified but have become independently accredited to offer reassurance that they understand the care system.
I am a Dementia Friend – we help to create dementia friendly communities, improving the lives of people living with dementia. This initiative helps improve society’s understanding of dementia through five key messages from the Alzheimer’s Society and was fundamental to reach their target of four million dementia friends by 2020.
I am a member of the Personal Finance Society. I have a strong commitment to charity and community work. I am a Trustee for two charities, Carers Support Merton, who provide information and support to carers of persons resident in the London Borough of Merton who are frail or ill or who have a disability or mental health problem and for Selsdon Centre for Retired which was set up to provide lunches and a variety of activities for individuals in retirement.
I am married with two girls and in my spare time I enjoy running.
I am DBS (formerly CRB) checked and my certificate is available upon request.
